Dragonschool99 murals are some of my favorites amongst the many wonderfuls murals in Oakland. Dragon School’s purpose is to fill Chinatown and beyond with amazing murals. I think they are doing a fine job. I will be posting more of their murals.

I love muras.
I will jump in my car and chase either of these magical art forms. A friend told me she saw this new mural during the Women’s March in Oakland last weekend. I had to go out the next day and see it for myself.

The amazing Quincy Jones came up and directed “Killer Joe”, the last song of the night during his big band tribute at Monterey Jazz Festival 59. There was a stellar cast of musicians including Valerie Simpson, Hubert Laws, Christian McBride, James Carter, Dave Grusin, John Clayton, Paul Jackson, Jr. and many others. It was a spectacular moment at the festival.
Oakland Pride 2017
This beautiful face, out of a sea of beautiful faces, stood out to me at the Oakland Pride celebration this year. I asked him who long did it take to put on this face and he responded, “Two hours.” I will post more photos from Oakland Pride 2017 soon.

I loved photographing the 34th Annual Leap Arts Sandcastle Classic @ Ocean Beach. I especially loved the nod to Rosa Parks here on this sandcastle. You can see more of my sandcastle photos on Flickr.
I was walking the trails in Slide Rock State Park near Sedona, Arizona and saw this heart-shaped rock. The wonders of nature.
