I took this photo while at Fillmore Jazz Festival 2006. The juxtaposition of the musician sitting at the entrance of this institution and the woman standing inside has always made me smile. When I had my first photography exhibit in 2007, my friend, Renee, recognized the musician as Mr. Don Cunningham. She told me that he played in the MUNI station in San Francisco and she took a copy of this photo to him and he gave her a copy of his album to give to me. I was greatly honored. I met Mr. Cunningham in 2009 playing on a Sunday at the SF Ferry Building. We talked for awhile and snapped photos of him as we talked as the one shown below. Really nice guy and I have not seen him in a couple of years.
